The main problem I see with that is that the Unifi switches will require the Unifi Controller to manage them.
But that's exactly why you'd want them. No other reason. If you want stand alone, don't touch Unifi gear from for any of their products.

Agreed, but you already have a bunch of Edge switches.. I suppose you have to start the conversion at some point, but it just feels weird to have a mix - but I guess it really doesn't matter.

Agreed, but you already have a bunch of Edge switches.. I suppose you have to start the conversion at some point, but it just feels weird to have a mix - but I guess it really doesn't matter.
Not really since the one group has to be managed one by one anyway.

Well, I have only bought the PoE models. Because if I need a new switch I get PoE to reduce wall wart clutter from IP phones and Access Points.
I do not buy a PoE switch just because I get phones generally. Most clients have switching hardware that does not need replaced.
