        @IRJ Probably more viable than starting your own online backup service. One shipping physical hard drives around would actually make a LOT of sense where I'm located. Basically anywhere with bad internet access is going to be a wide open market for this sort of thing. Yes, a few nationwide companies do the whole "secure box" storage thing, but they're really quite expensive. So it'd be possible. All about your personal connections to get it started, and then it's a matter of marketing and logistics to start scaling.

        I've always wanted to start a local ISP, even knowing how much of a pain it is. Wide open market for anyone willing to do combined wired and wireless networking around here.

              Amazon Glacier and BackBlazeB2, yeah. I haven't dealt with Iron Mountain in a very long time, are they still only doing the "secure box" thing? Also, are the prices still around $500/month for the smallest containers?
