You've got to clone a git repository to get it on CentOS,

        git clone https://github.com/KittyKatt/screenFetch.git

if anyone really wants it for CentOS. I did go ahead and grab it on the image I was updating and keeping as my base image yesterday.

        [root@CentOSbase screenFetch]# ./screenfetch-dev

It's not built in to Debian either. I tried to get it, but no love...

But look, Ma! I was Linuxing!

I don't think it is in the repo... "Unable to locate package screenfetch". The stuff i saw online says you have to go out to the innerwebs to fetch it, but this device is locked away from the outside. So I guess I could stick it on a USB or something. Or let the device through the firewall for a moment.

That takes Linux skills I do not possess... but I am currently upgrading the Airvision software via SSH. After a little research, I discovered that it can ping 8.8.8.8, so it's not unable to reach the net. I think the 2013 tutorial just has old URLs for screenfetch.

Thanks for the assist though. I really want to screenfetch this thing now.

                                -bash: apt: command not found

                                Oh... for you, it'd be

                                apt-get install screenfetch

I thought Debian had switched to just apt...

I don't think it is in the repo... "Unable to locate package screenfetch". The stuff i saw online says you have to go out to the innerwebs to fetch it, but this device is locked away from the outside. So I guess I could stick it on a USB or something. Or let the device through the firewall for a moment.

Or spin up a fresh VM so the interwebz can't start attacking your production machine. 😄

That takes Linux skills I do not possess... but I am currently upgrading the Airvision software via SSH. After a little research, I discovered that it can ping 8.8.8.8, so it's not unable to reach the net. I think the 2013 tutorial just has old URLs for screenfetch.

No time like the present to learn! 8-)

It's not a traditional fetch, but I'll give it a shot:
                                  Ubuntu 10.10

                                        Oracle Linux, that's a first!
