      Of course, I recommend neither. If you need a FreeBSD storage system, just use FreeBSD itself. But more likely, you'll want to use Linux (probably OpenSuse) for storage systems.

        I've always liked FreeNAS. It is solid and easy to use.

          It's pretty solid, but I don't like it compared to just using FreeBSD. The web interface brings problems and doesn't really buy you anything. Not like it has additional functionality.
