We have out grown our current hardware (3x ESxi + Dell SAN) and instead of looking at just refreshing and spending ££££ on new hosts and a SAN (I know Scott but out of my hands i'm trying to steer them to Scale or similar tech).
Anyway one of the options we are thinking is moving the whole lot to cloud/co-lo/IaaS?
Just wondering the best way to start thinking or capacity planning for this so we can get a rough idea of costs compared to doing it the same as now on hardware here. Or is it something for the "Pros" to get in and do the planning and then quote us ???
(FYI - Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 - 300 users - 300-400GB Database size - 300 Devices to access it - Currently using Citrix XenApp shared desktops not vdi.)

I'm not sure if you are referring to the footware or explosive.
Foot ware, not so concerned about but the explosive sounds fun.

After bulldozing an entire mountain of work left of from Thursday and Friday.

Just checked my current workstation: Xeon 1240, 32GB RAM, SSD, bla bla. There are always like 5 or 6 VMs running, one with a SQL Server workload, a billion browser windows on at least 2 browsers, Office, Visual Studio, some PDFs... I guess I could start reencoding videos in the background to make it sweat

Not the biggest, I know, but it's a developer / admin workstation, not a CAD system
I thought I was doing ok with a 2 year old laptop, i5, 16gb and ssd haha
Granted it sounds like we do different things all day so fair enough!
