I'm not sure which is more annoying.... the sideways "G" gravatar default or these colored circles with letters in them. Make with the picture uploads, people!

What's weird is - where did that icon even come from? Since we are now only using local avatars on ML, where did ML get that avatar to begin with?

@RojoLoco huh, I thought that is a power button style image. The G never occurred to me.
It's both. And it's a fairly clever combination of the two.

The sideways G is the "Gravatar Generic" for when no avatar exists. The letters are NodeBB defaults for when none exists.

Although the avatar in question is coming from Gravatar, not from the CDN. I'm not sure if you can specify a URL for your avatar or not. If you can, I don't know how it is done
But it is only the one. -
Oh wait, there it is. There is a URL option for the avatar. I suspect that that is what it is.

Looking at the page source, it looks like the image is being pulled directly, not being called through Gravatar.
