eh? these are a UAP, just like all the rest - and are run from the controller software, just like the rest.

Not really much use for them.. neat but not that useful, more likely to block RF if you put it where the boxes would be. And given this has a switch in it too more likely to fail from heat build up.

if the antennas are on the surface, they should cover the room they are in pretty nicely.
No clue if the switch would be a problem heat wise or not.

Only if you put the box where an AP should be for deployment.. not just where ever you have outlets at.. and if you are going to do that why not mount a normal AP since it's not much difference, and this AP doesn't seem to have AC either.

Well you can put them in a few more places. I have wall boxes in every room of the house but often just one AP. Having one of these, even in a poor location, on the far side of the house would help a lot.

When I saw them they were using a hotel as an example. Each room could have its own wifi access that would be turned on and off for guests.

And they have PoE out for the desk phone in the room.
