Ease of use and channel selection is why I haven't left cable yet.

Those are exactly the reasons I don't have cable/satellite anymore.

      it wasn't easy to use?

Not really. Content was very hard to find when I wanted it, there were these loud intermissions on every channel every few minutes. Not easy to use at all. Much less so then clicking a button and instantly having the content you want without crazy loud breaks.

So you have a legal way to get shows anywhere near original release date without those loud breaks?

Why would I want to watch them near their release date? That just seems silly to have to wait a week for an episode... if I just wait a few months I can watch the entire season as I want to much more enjoyable that way.

So no water cooler talk for you then.

I'm not sure I see the appeal.

I'd probably lose my shit if everyone ruined Walking Dead episodes for me Monday morning lol.

      Plus 1000!

      Glen died???! WWWWHHHHAAAATTTTT???!!!!!

      Can you imagine....? lol

No because I don't watch that show - but the idea I absolutely agree with.

My friend ruined The Matrx for me because he felt that you living in a computer generated world wasn't that big a deal to the movie... lol

The little blurb that I saw only said "death by head" and I nearly spit out my tea.

You mean commericals..... "loud breaks" that is one way to describe them... the actors need to pee too, they literally live inside that small box on your wall...

Following that to its logical conclusion- they are peeing inside there too!

That's what causes TVs to wear out so quickly. The vents in the back are for the evaporation.

I don't want to pay $150 for a tv tuner and DVR.

I don't need all the other features. I just need a tuner and DVR. I already have ways to stream all the things.

Looks like SlingTV would only get me part of the way there since it doesn't carry the major networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX). Hmm

Just break down and spend the money to put an aerial antenna, and a motor to turn it if you want to get really fancy. You should be able to pickup a good number of the local channels you'd otherwise miss that way. If you're close enough to the transmitters, you might be able to get away with an indoor model. You'll save tons of money in the long run.

A usb dongle and a laptop set to never hibernate/shutdown. Your choice of software to make it work, lots of options available.

If you want to see how well an aerial will work for you. Enter your zip code here.

I would get 1 channel and it isn't one I would watch.

Stick 60172 in there to see my current selection. My old house was in 62234. Both had decent selection.
