@coliver I think he's talking about the suggestions for purchase. But my strategy these days if I don't have anything next on deck is to just randomly install something and play it until either I'm hooked or tired of it.

      That's a good strategy.

Finally finished up Witcher 3 - not sure what I'll start on next. Might go back and play some more Rocket League.

You could let Steam suggest one of those hundreds you have never played.

Steam suggests games? How do I find that feature?

I think it suggests one in Big Picture. I have BP set as my system default so I boot up and it just goes right into BP.

But if you go to steaminfo.db and sign in to your account through Steam, it will make suggestions too.

I have about ~920 installed and ready to go at this point 🙂

Ah that makes more sense. I generally don't have BP on. Good suggestion on the steaminfo.db.

How many of those have you actually played? OTOH, that's saying some great things for how available games are becoming for Linux.

My gaming rig is sadly Windows, and as expected crashes non-stop.

I've played a LOT, if you don't count all of the sequels to ones I have not yet finished. Tons of them are series that I am working on, so it is unfair to count those like separate titles from a "have you played them" perspective.

My wife played three games start to finish just yesterday. So we really do use them.

Since GTA4 or since you last played GTA5?

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes... standard casual game mixed with RPG with a Star Wars overlay. I'm playing it on iOS and Android.

That's cool. As part of just updates or with DLC?

@scottalanmiller Free updates, I had to get my PS3 controller working again with my system, so didn't play much last night but there is so much more.

Nice. I have every GTA game from 3 - 4 with all the DLCs. Waiting till 5 is cheap before I jump into it. I get to own lots of games because I don't buy any when they are full price or anywhere near full price. It's a tradeoff. Very much looking forward to GTA5, though.

@scottalanmiller Do you prefer to only purchase through steam, or have you considered some of the cheaper online retailers where you can get the game for $30?

I downloaded Vermintide and Elite Dangerous last night. I setup my gaming PC in my living room again but still stuck with a Steam Controller, which is actually pretty great.

I did end up grabbing Elite Dangerous: Horizons this week. My advice is to enjoy ED and skip Horizons for the time being. Lots of little details need fleshed out yet with Horizons. The best ways to make money are still fighting in a High-Intensity Resource Extraction site and rare commodity trading. Fighting in resource extraction sites is actually safer for me than rares trading (not hauling illegal goods around all the time.)
