One thing that is odd about the Moto 360...the bottom 1/8 of the screen is squared off. Whereas the S2 is a full circle all times. Someone said it has something to do with the ambient light sensor but seems weird.

I decided to go Android Wear with the LG Watch Urbane...especially since it is $100 off this past weekend. Stylish and once you get used to how it operates, a joy to use. For sure, it is nowhere near the fitness band that the Band 2 is but it is a well rounded (no pun intended) smartwatch with fantastic notifications and app integration via the notifications...

well, I decided to by a Band 2. I have Windows phone still.

It's been OK. The twisting of your head to read it is a pain though. I like the wide display, but I might give it up for a standard watch face.

Yeah I've been interested in getting a "Smart" watch for a while and go like the LG range. I have been looking at the LG GWatchR.
But I think i'm going to hold off until the summer until I get one. (Gives me time to save up for one :))

*Edit - should also add I need to find what apps can be used with them see if its worth replacing my existing watch (Wedding present)

If you ask me - I got only one device that needs to be changed on a daily basis and I don’t need another one. My Garmin vivofit is perfect to track steps and it works with regular battery (they claim 0.5 year)

Seriously, I sometime forget to charge my phone and I can imagine why I need smartwatch then πŸ™‚

                    @Reid-Cooper

One of the 100's of watch faces...

Music controller... (if you swipe right to left, you can control volume, skip or rewind a song:

                    0_1447864101386_20151118_072000.jpg

It does let you know how much physical activity you've had (but doesn't remind you to get up and walk):

Weather...it also has an expanded Weather "app" to get a few more details:

                    Main App listing...scrolls vertically...

                    Twitter Notifications:

                    0_1447864571701_20151118_101353.jpg

You can also voice respond to texts, can voice command "track my walk/run" and as long as you have your phone and runkeeper, it will GPS your walk.

You can also interact with some apps via the notifications. Like I can approve Chore Monster chores via the SmartWatch.

Also, when you clear a notification on the watch, it also clears it on phone. Nice...

Android Wear is a lot better than I expected and it really all depends if you need a smartwatch...bottom line, if you want fitness, go with Fitbit or Microsoft Band 2. If you want a well rounded SmartWatch with excellent notifications and step/calorie/activity counter, AndroidWear based watches are great.

I am still learning more and more about Android Wear...for a lack of better descriptions, the apps you download from Google Play that work with Android Wear seem to work in "tandem." They will find a place in the watch app list and work fairly seamlessly.

Really wish I could "borrow" one for a month and see if it fits my life before buying one.

Best Buy, at least for me, has been so good returns...this is how I decided between the Gear S2 and the Android Wear Based LG Urbane.

I have been pretty happy with my $20 U8 smartwatch. It isn't as pretty nor does it have as many features of as the brand name competitors. It does have all the basics of every smartwatch, though. I am able to discreetly see all notifications and read full text messages, facebook messages, hangout messages, etc.

It has allowed me to spend less time looking at my phone since quite a few emails and other notifications are garbage. It also has a pedometer. It is hard to beat for $20.

Hmmmmm might be worth a try to see if I like the "SmartWatch" concept.

Can you delete messages from the watch? This is something the Band can't do.. 😞

Nope. The watch is pretty much passive. It holds the last 5 notifications. No actual data. For example if someobody sends me a FB message, I can read the whole message from my watch, but once I get 5 additional notifications, it is removed from the watch.

The MS Band 2 is the same way.
