Probably, if you look for a rental 2-3 hours north of us generally it is much less expensive. 1-2 bedroom apartments around us regularly go for 800-1000$.

I couldn't even thing about living with my parents now at 28. I moved out when I was 19 and haven't looked back since.
I dislike the area they live in very much and my parents are very religious (judgmental).

Right, we have are extremely rural here. The county seat has ~5000-6000 people.

You can generally get a mortgage around here for $600/month for a house twice or three times the size. That includes utilities and tax.

I didn't say you couldn't buy a house for less, but that I kind of agree that $800 - $1000 a month isn't horrible for an apartment.

They use the zero clearance AC here or whatever it is called. So you can add it easily. You would not need AC in Molina Norte, though, rarely tops 70 at night. Almost always in the mid to high sixties at night, seventies during the day, year round.
