      Fun update:

I looks like Windows Defender is now flagging the MicTray process.
      0_1495726120711_2017-05-25 09_27_34-Windows Defender Security Center.png

Only after HP released a fix for it.

Well playing catchup is better than playing "don't care"

I'm going to see if my HP Support Assistant will patch it, and then I'll see if Defender flags it again.

And there are no patches available for my system. Thanks Obama.

@nadnerB Wow, just your highlights here read like a long nightmare. Only government would assume they could pressure another company into doing something it doesn't want to do. Then 'cloudify' the software, as if that's any different than virtualizing it! 😆

And as if that's any different than not virtualization it. It's really just gibberish.

@nagendra I sent a chunk of mBTC to someone I met at a bar a couple of years back. The topic of BTC had come up so I was trying to explain it to him and a few others. He went and set up a wallet so I decided to demonstrate with a small amount. Sure hope he kept access to that wallet!

If your excuse is that your software only supports Windows XP, then it's time to find a new vendor that supports OSs from the present decade.

Easier said than done. I know... but rather that than people dieing.

The organization I work for has some proprietary (PROM or EPROM i think) programming software (forget exactly what it is) that requires a specific processor (due to the timing/frequency of the CPU crystal) that can't run anything greater than 98.. but that computer is off the network. There are ways...

I mean I know it all sucks and it would be awesome if all the right people got all the right info and took all the right actions. but they don't and won't. So we need to push everyone that we can to do what they can. It's just what we have to work with.

I have heard time and again that Nutanix gear has a much higher price point than its competitors. I've never actually had it quoted, however. Maybe that was the VMware fan boy in me.

I've upgraded my 11.03 instance to the 12 beta. It works great! All of the plugins that I use for it do work, and I even got the Collabora Online docker image to work with it as well!

The video chat does work well. I haven't found where to test the regular chat yet.

Good for you Maine. Not letting anti-competitive laws pass is a great way to fight the impending loss of Net Neutrality.

Time to move to the land of lobster!

I've got family up there. It's actually a really nice state.

I spent my childhood summering there every other year. I actually really love it. My family came SO close to selling the farm and buying a diner up there on an island when I was about ten. I almost grew up in a tiny little island town.

On an iPad, can you set your default browser to Firefox, IE, Edge, Chrome, etc.?

The import thing is that you CAN set them to NOT Edge.

Yeah, well you see... it's no different than what other vendors are doing with their restrictive OSs.... it just so happens that Edge is new and people need to fix their programming 😛

      runs away

      Yeah... that's the issue.

*States shall be liable for damage caused by their space objects; and

That one was violated this year.

China is responsible for a huge percentage of debris around our planet. Were they penalized for that?

Huge percentage? Not a chance. The US and Russia have been leaving debris for more than 50 years before China ever got started.

      http://www.space.com/3415-china-anti-satellite-test-worrisome-debris-cloud-circles-earth.html

China tested anti satellite missiles etc, so they caught up pretty fast. Happened to be their own satellites to test, but the debris is still there.

Yes, I am quite aware of that. but that is not nearly half of all space debris.

cross out percentage from my original post and put amount

All satellite collisions spew huge amounts of debris. And do you think there is not some up there from US and russia anti sattelite missile tests?

It's likely, but I haven't read anything on it

That would be because it happened before you were born. The Star Wars program was a scary thing.

I vaguely remember hearing about that. This is one of those things that retracts from my studying, but I'll read up on it anyway lol
