but when the questions are "you need 4 networks which subnet mask would you use on this ip: 10.1.1.25"

That's gibberish. There's no way to know based on what is stated.

I probably missed the actual question.. but questions similar to that confuse me.

It's all math and high school style word problems. It's all about "to meet the requirements", what options would you choose so that the sizes are correct.

@obsolesce Thanks! That scope is a tad bigger than the one I use for viewing, but should be just as easy to setup. Celestron makes a pretty robust mount for a smartphone to take pictures from something like that.

Obviously this will depend on the COVID situation where you are, but find a local astronomy club and go to one of their star parties, then you can look/use several different scopes and figure out which one might be a better fit.

Also, All of the astronomy resellers have really knowledgeable people and are more than happy to answer questions to help you get started.

Most of the images I take (except for really bright objects like the moon) are imaged over several nights and I'm layering 60 - 100+ pictures to make it. For my photography setup, it is a smaller scope so it is a larger field of view of the sky, it has a dedicated astronomy camera on it. I've never actually looked through my photography setup with an eye piece, I just have a computer sitting out with it controlling the mount, focuser, filter wheel, and camera. Its a time consuming process.

If you are wanting to get in to some of the longer astrophotography stuff, the cheapest way to start is with a DSLR, a lens and a star tracker. You can take some pretty incredible wide field shots with just that.

Yeah the ball and chain issue.... I've not found anything decent for iOS either. I tend to just keep the battery on the device low or pretend the battery has died and needs charging.

This is for an older iPAD, I know the newer ones have this built in... but you know $

Normally, if you're going this extreme, I would expect to see $5k+

Actually I see a lot of people put just regular systems in fancy cases.

In that case - this case would SUCK! a normal fan on the CPU and GPU would be so loud in a case like this.

/snark Don't you mean that would SUCK and BLOW? /end snark

An entire risk that exists only for closed source.

I hope on of the products is Microsoft Teams so they can fix the glaring functional issues with it...

Is Teams really a product though? I think of it more as a service... I mean I know they have clients for desktop and mobile... but the web version definitely feels more like a service.

I did a 2-day conference over Teams last week. It actually went very well.

It has improved a lot. It's still trails other solutions, but what from MS doesn't. It's at least starting to catch up with the level of behind that most of the rest of the MS ecosystem is.

@Obsolesce CentOS as a product is dead, the alternatives are RHEL or CentOS Stream.

CentOS Stream is a totally different thing. Not what people consider alternatives. It is an alternative in the same way that Ubuntu or Windows is.

The real alternatives that are drop in replacements that work exactly the same and cost the same are Oracle Linux, AlamLinux and Rocky Linux.

iPhone 8 and 6Plus we could definitely use here!

      Family or office?

Family. My wife currently has a 7, my daughter a 6+ and my dad a 5S. So while not a huge step up, they'd be a nice improvement and we could retire the 5S.

When working to support 911 systems we used half rack on wheels. Most very small county PSAP are to small to have a full anchored rack. They could be pushed back when access wasn’t needed, and of course out when needed.

Since emergency calls where being handled by these things, they of course had to be secure.

ETA: hate typing on the phone,....

@flaxking said in Azure or 0365?:

I'd say there's probably more roles out there to move up into. Companies may be using Microsoft 365, but could be using other providers for their cloud infrastructure. They might also expect their cloud engineers to know multiple platforms. I had experience creating highly available environments on-premise before breaking into Azure.

This is a good point. The number of M365 jobs out there probably outnumbers Azure jobs. And the M365 jobs typically need just one skill, whereas a typical Azure job will require many. And one is a logical step from helpdesk, and one is a total focus change.

@scottalanmiller said in Streaming music for office (or anywhere):

that's broadcast, doesn't apply to streaming.

When looking at the copyright issues of broadcasting (playing over speakers or display devices) streaming content for public viewing/listening in your office or restaurant, streaming is considered the same as a television or radio broadcast . So the copyright laws regarding playing TV or radio in your office also apply to streaming content.

Example: I have an IPv4 network, and you have an IPv4 network, and we want to talk to each other. But there's no IPv4 network between us. We need to tunnel our networks somehow through whatever is between us so that we can network to each other. That in between network could be anything, NetBEUI, IPX/SPX, IPv6, whatever. As long as we tunnel through it, our IPv4 networks can see each other (but not the network inbetween).
