Encryption has more or less always been allowed - it's only through the ease of use that now they are pushing to make it go away.

To add fuel to the fire (though it might have been mentioned already below)

It simplifies the transition between models and makes of laptop. I like to "generic windows-ify" all my installs so that you use all the MS stuff to manage wifi etc. Then the only transitions you need to coach users on is to new windows versions.

I have an old (6+) C2D Lappy with Xubuntu.
It plays Worms quite well. Not sure what else I've tried as I only really use it when I go wandering away from home for a night or more.

Kickstart is how big companies did it in the pre-virtualization era.

For me thought the question is how drivers from Microsoft differs from the original vendor’s drivers.

As far as I know, the driver needs to be certified at MS end to reach the MS shop, so at some point the freshest driver can be obtained from the vendor directly…

I did not in this case. I knew that epel was required but not included and put it in the instructions. Wget I tested to ensure it was there by default, but it appears that Digital Ocean is modifying that too!! That's really frustrating. Can't wait till our new lab cluster is up so that we can do these tests faster and easier there with true vanilla installs and not have to trust third parties have not been modifying them.

Well, we had a discussion here (not even going to try and find the thread) about a year or so ago when I was setting something up and I mentioned this then. Mostly related to how DO was not a clean Minimal install.

I even got a $10.00 Gift Card for my efforts.

Who knew, I wasn't expecting anything.
