Are the blocks always used in groups of 4?

Watching the video to figure out what kind of "block of four" might have been mentioned. I'm going to go with "no" since there is no "block of four" concept in any RAID.

@scottalanmiller is there a limit on how many blocks you can use?

No, not sure what they mean. But blocks in a normal RAID system would be in the billions.
-
The question would be "what is a block" in this context?
-
@scottalanmiller I don't know lol. It was a bit confusing

Prof Messer gets this very, very wrong yet again, he says that if you need performance you use hardware RAID, but this is extremely basic and it's been a full twenty years since hardware RAID wasn't as fast as software RAID. Getting this wrong now, or just repeating the A+ getting it wrong, is way past the point where you can just claim to not have known. That's some seriously wrong information. It shows how much the A+ is vendor supported and how willing they are to say anything to sell some hardware.
-
Oh, he's saying block in the images. That's "block" in a generic sense, just a "widget" of data. It's in the billions or trillions for a normal RAID array.
-
RAID 5 - he gets something very wrong. He said that even when data is lost, you have complete redundancy. This is completely wrong. If one drive is lost, you still have access to the data, but there is zero redundancy.

wow.... /sigh.

I'm still shocked that they updated the test, but still don't mention either:
a) UREs, the single biggest risk factor for RAID
b) RAID 6, one of the most important levels -
SAM, can I just copy and paste your comments on their youtube page?

LOL, sure.

Now that could be entertaining, but more likely horrific.
