I'm hoping Vultr implements a feature where you can download a snapshot made with their system. Even if you had to pay a small amount for it.

Or even a full image that you could then re-upload to them.

Everything cloudy these days should come with a feature to automagically backup to a competitors service. For a fee of course, and you'd need an account with the competitor etc.

Is backup Vultr's job or mine? Should I trust my provider?

Trust them is not the right term here. It is your job to choose the backup option, enable it and pay for it. It is Vultr's job to do the backups as stated if you choose to enable it.

It is not Vultr's job to provide backups of the VMs by default as they state that that is not something that they do. So trusting them to do what they are supposed to do would mean no backups.

Curious about your owncloud configuration. How much storage are you paying for? Is vultr only all SSD?

@aaronstuder Thanks. Not sure why I didn't see the "sata" packages.

Vultr specifically has awesome big capacity non-SSD plans. That's why they are so ideal for ownCloud.

Those SATA plans are specifically why we have used Vultr in the past.

Ya I just looked. The only options now are compute, block storage, and dedicated. Block storage is all SSDs.

I was wondering why the hell anyone would want to spend money on all SSD for owncloud. LOL.

All is well, just a confusing new interface.

Your missing the point. Logout, and try to find any information on a Storage Instance.

They have 0 info on there site about it. Just block storage.

I did and the old storage instances are still there.

As someone who does not have an account, I do not see the SATA option anywhere.

                                        Compute shows all SSD:

Block storage shows a slider with only SSD options:
