It might be! Might be about the same amount of time at least...

But be prepared, the Amtrak Cleveland to NYC run normally has dramatic delays around Albany, so you have to allow a lot of time there.

Sadly the Alliance station is on the Capital run rather than the NY run, that would be easier for you.

Once a date is known I can figure out if I can come.
If I come, I would be driving from Chicago. I would have to figure out parking and a place to stay.

That'd be about the only way I'd be able to make it, plus I could see about hanging out with my cousin who lives in NYC.
