@JaredBusch Was clearly expecting an original idea at best when they did hit the market. It's just another generic running game from what I see.

This is huge. It's a good IP to start with for Nintendo. I'm hoping they do something like Mario Kart or Smash Bros next.

It is not. I am not even partial to Super Mario Brothers. I sucked at it as a kid.
But Nintendo has a huge pool of IP that has never seen the light of modern gaming platforms because they refused to go outside their own hardware.

Eh... it's Nintendo. They haven't really had an original idea in this millennia. Even the ones they do are super gimmicky. I'm glad they stuck with what they know best for their first foray into 3rd party hardware.

To be fair Super Mario Sunshine and Galaxy were pretty decent games. Far from ground breaking but at least fun. The last few Sonic games have been... shitty.

And how many match 3 games are on the market?
This works because it takes a solid known style (scrolling runner) and combines it with Nintendo's IP.
Once they realize profits, they specifically said the game will be a paid app without in game purchases, they will gain confidence to expand their IP releases.

He's Nintendo's flagship character/franchise easily the most recognizable video character in existence. He even made a, brief, appearance at the Olympics this year!

Lol I get why they're (quite literally) beating the coins out of him (see what I did there?! :D). Would just like to see something original. Like Zelda, another original title. Another one that comes to mind (whether people hated the remakes or not, I thought they were pretty cool) was Metroid.
