@scottalanmiller maybe i should learn how routers and switches works and how to connect RJ45 wire. so i need to start with basic networking and operating system right ??

Yes, you should understanding routers, switches, hubs, firewalls, networking protocols, normal desktop computing, virtualization, file sharing, power user tasks, etc. before trying to move on to server administration.

The Network+ training is a good place to start for that stuff.

This is a book that I liked in the first edition. No experience with later editions.

            Network+ Exam Cram on Amazon

@alex.olynyk I was actually getting ready to link the same. @jimmynelson look up eli the computer guy on youtube as well. They both make it easy to understand the more complex aspects of networking.

I completely agree with Scott that the Network+ is a much better starting point than your A+. They put a lot of work into it.

Yes, the Network+ is a certification with an exam.

But you don't need to take the exam, only learn the material. But if you are just starting out in IT, you'd likely want the exam once you have gone through the effort of studying for it.

It's called Network+. Don't get into the habit of changing words. In IT getting spelling, names and such exact, every time, matters a LOT. You should never make up your own way of saying a proper name.

                                    For example...

Xen, XenServer, Xen server, Zen server, ZenServer are five totally discrete things. If you are casual about spelling, capitalization or just make stuff up no one can understand you. Every time we've said Network+ you've repeated back a different word with a different spacing on the +. IT isn't a field that allows any ambiguity like that. There is no "close enough" in IT.

Get a book. Nothing you do should involve a classroom. Classrooms are not for learning, they are for taking your money. It's not that you can't learn in a classroom, but if you can't learn easily from books and a home lab, nearly everything in IT will be very, very challenging. You need the skills of teaching yourself or none of these IT fields will be reasonably open to you.
